The Plant Operations Tech II is responsible for the overall maintenance and repair operations of the facility.  Other duties may be required as directed by Supervisor, Director, and/or Management.  

 

1.      Performs routine inspections to recognize facility deficiencies and improvement opportunities.

2.      Submits work order requests daily, establishes work priorities, and completes assignments and following paperwork in a timely manner.

3.      Responsible for performing repairs, maintaining equipment throughout the facility, and working on projects.

4.      Performs designated routine preventative maintenance checks, adjustments, and repairs on equipment.

5.      Maintains the building in good repair keeping it free of hazards such as those caused by; electrical, plumbing, heating and cooling systems, etc.

6.      Maintains the building in compliance with federal, state and local county laws.

7.      Maintains the Fire Alarm, Emergency Generator System and Emergency Support System in good working order.

8.      Keeps the heating and air-conditioning units and major systems in good working order at all times.

9.      Requisitions supplies and equipment as needed.

10.  Maintains the exterior grounds and irrigation systems.

11.  Maintain all areas of the community (including work areas and storage rooms) in a safe and clean environment.

12.  May coordinate repair work and maintenance with contractors and/or vendors.

13.  Responsible for tools and maintenance of equipment.

14.  Assists in moving residents from independent living to health care.

15.  Checking-in with the other technicians at the end of the day making sure no one needs help, then checking-in with the Supervisor to ensure no last-minute emergencies have developed.


  • Completion of a technical or trade school program is preferred. 
  • Four years of maintenance experience.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of general maintenance, such as: boilers, heating and air conditioning units, refrigerator and freezers, electrical wiring, etc. 
  • Demonstrate 80% competency on the Technical Maintenance Background Checklist.
  • CPR-AED certification required within 90 days of hire date.
  • Must maintain a valid Georgia or South Carolina driver’s license.
