Casa de las Campanas is a senior living life plan community where residents enjoy the retirement that they desire. We are located in Rancho Bernardo. We are searching for dedicated Community Safety Officer (EMT) professionals to join our team on a full time basis on our PM shift.

The Community Safety Officer (EMT) provides emergency medical response to residents and staff and initiates appropriate action. Responsible for general safety of residents, staff, guests, buildings, grounds, minor emergency maintenance functions and other required duties. Able to work a flexible schedule.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Responds to resident and staff emergency medical situations, makes assessments and initiates appropriate medical responses.
  • Patrols interior and exterior of buildings and grounds.
  • Monitors the welfare of residents by performing daily status check procedures.
  • Responds to all emergency calls, ie, medical, fire, life-safety and security.
  • Locks and unlocks designated doors as scheduled or required.
  • Records all significant observations/happenings and other appropriate documentation.
  • Takes proper actions during disasters in accordance with approved Facility Emergency Manuals and notifies designated personnel.
  • Responds to minor maintenance calls in the absence of on-duty maintenance personnel. Immediately contacts physical plant staff for life-safety equipment malfunction repair.
  • Escorts residents and staff as needed. Provides other personal services, ie: delivering medications, packages, newspapers, flowers, etc., and other duties as assigned.
  • Monitors and controls parking on property.
  • Monitors and controls vendor services and parking on property.
  • Monitors and controls access to Casa buildings by residents, staff and visitors.
  • Transports staff to off-site employee parking as needed.
  • Provides relief for receptionist as required.
  • Delivers resident newspapers as needed when vendor is restricted due to DEH requirements.

We offer a retention bonus of $500 ($250 paid at 6 months of employment and $250 paid at 1 year of employment) for full and part time positions. We offer shift differentials of $1.25/hr. for PM shift.

Requires:

• Current CA Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification required
• Prior experience as an EMT is preferred but not essential if have experience in senior living
• Current CA driver’s license required
• Current CA Guard Card a plus
• Ability to work holidays and weekends

 

Rate: $17-18 per hour/based on experience plus differential

All Employees must be able to pass background checks (fitness for duty physical, fingerprinting, employment references) as required by a licensed residential care facility. Many roles in our community may require that we ask about your vaccination status. Please note that all employees will be required to have a COVID-19 vaccination as a condition of employment.
