Position Summary:

Perform various resident care activities and related nonprofessional services essential to caring

for personal needs and comfort of residents.


Essential Job Functions:

1. Assist all residents/clients with a high quality of personal care, including but not limited

to; bathing, dressing, grooming, shaving, incontinent care, foot care, vital signs, height

and weight checks per policy.

2. Make all beds as needed in A.M., turn down as needed in P.M., strip beds once each

week or PRN.

3. Do all personal laundry on resident’s first scheduled shower day.

4. Do all linens per shift (where applicable).

5. Assist residents with meal time. Cut food. Encourage to eat. Feed when needed.

6. Utilize on an ongoing basis, all aspects of special programs offered by the community.

7. For Minnesota communities only: Assist with medication management.

8. Maintain calm atmosphere at all times.

9. Follow through with all assignments on a timely basis in accordance to chain of

command when Director of Health Services is not on duty.

10. Report to Director of Health Services all unusual behavior of resident (changing of status).

11. Check station bulletin board per shift for Special Needs Sheet, and any other pertinent

information regarding needs, staff programming, etc.

12. Provide activities as planned and/or directed.

13. Document resident status as per policy.

14. Respond to all call lights and emergencies in a timely manner.

15. Provide emergency care within scope of practice.

16. Be familiar with and enforce as appropriate all facility policies.

Qualifications/Education Required (Preferred):

High School diploma preferred

First Aid and CPR certification with annual recertification through an outside services
