The Director of Technology has overall accountability for planning and managing the technology infrastructure supporting the company’s network and business applications. The position is also responsible for planning and managing activities in support of the technology services offered to client communities, as well as system administration for the company’s critical business and communications systems.

What You Need To Know

This position reports to SVP/Chief Information Officer and partners closely with the information security manager, application systems managers and support teams.

This position oversees and manages a team of approximately 25 five employees, within the following teams:  IT Operations, Service Desk, and Technical Support of Community Infrastructure.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees plans, budgets and processes in support of the company’s technical and data/voice communications infrastructure, including both corporate and community support.

  • Has overall responsibility for technology vendor relationships including contract negotiations, license management, SLA delivery.

  • Develops plans to maintain and enhance revenue generating opportunities for the technology services offered to client communities.

  • Partners with the IT Customer Service Manager to develop and maintain appropriate levels of customer engagement.

  • Collaborates with the IT Operations Manager to ensure the day-today effective running of the LCS technical environment.

  • Engages with IT Business Application Managers to plan, organize and implement upgrades to critical business applications. 

  • Joins forces with LCS management to identify and research new, forward-thinking technologies that complement the IT service offering.

  • Works with the IT Security Manager to ensure the secure operation of the in-house systems, servers and networks.

  • Provides analysis and resolution of security breaches and vulnerability issues.

  • Partners with the business to establish and administer policies relating to the company’s effective use of technology. Examples include hardware procurement, desktop security, mobile device strategy, data storage, collaboration capabilities and internet usage.


What We Are Looking For

  • 4-year degree in Computer Science, MIS or related technology field.

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience and well-rounded understanding of key technology component including networking, voice/data communications and hardware configuration.

  • Strong communication and business relationship skills required.

  • Strong business acumen.

  • Prior leadership experience managing technology staff required.

  • Strong organizational skills required.

  • Previous responsibility with planning and budgeting required.

  • Highly effective leading change.

  • Proven track record of coaching and mentoring others
