The IT Security Manager is responsible for developing and executing IT security strategies, processes, and procedures. This position manages the daily operations of the IT security department and associated personnel, and works closely with IT managers and business employees in order to facilitate user and system access.  A strong customer service attitude is necessary for this role, as well as strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

The Role:

  • Provide leadership, guidance and training to IT security personnel.

  • Owner of the LCS Oracle Single Sign On (SSO) solution including the addition of new applications and features.

  • Plan, organize and manage end user provisioning/deprovisioning for LCS applications and various technical services. 

  • Develop and implement functional policies and procedures.  Functional policies and procedures include but are not limited to:  security policies, technical security practices and approvals, end-user audits, external audits (such as SSAE16) and audit support, and change requests.

  • Develop technical security policies and procedures.  This includes but is not limited to:  PC, mobile device, network, and datacenter (physical access) security, and the safety and physical storage of the LCS backups.

  • Ensure seamless execution of polices, procedures, and customer satisfaction.

  • Manages large project efforts, ensuring project requirements and timelines are met.

  • Analyze existing operations and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of LCS security.

  • Follows and adheres to company defined IT standards and procedures.

  • Assist with special projects as needed and as time permits.

  • Ensures compliance with regulations governing data security privacy (PII, PHI, EPHI. etc.) as it relates to the administrative, physical and technical safeguards of the HIPAA rules.

  • Works in conjunction with the LCS HIPAA Privacy Officer.

  • Conducts related ongoing HIPAA data security compliance monitoring activities in coordination with the LCS HIPAA Privacy Officer.

  • Keep apprised of changes to HIPAA Privacy and revise the LCS HIPAA Privacy and Security Policies accordingly with the LCS HIPAA Privacy Officer.

  • In conjunction with the LCS HIPAA Privacy Officer, maintain a record-keeping system designed to document the ongoing operations of the Life Care Services LLC HIPAA Privacy and Security Policies.

  • In conjunction with the LCS HIPAA Privacy Officer, report to the Governing Body on the operation and implementation of the Life Care Services LLC HIPAA Privacy and Security Policies.


 

Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 2 year degree with relevant experience and/or history of continuing education. 
  • A minimum three (3) years directing or managing staff.

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in basic project management.

  • 3 years of experience in an operational task driven environment (such as a customer support group) preferred.

  • Experience with Oracle Identity Management products is a plus.

  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory desired.

  • Experience with Sophos Encryption desired.

  • Solid understanding of customer service principles and the ability to apply them.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel.

  • Ability to manage and develop IT staff.

  • Ability to manage projects using project management best practices.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to analyze problems and provide optimum resolution.
