Sr. Clinical Systems Analyst (HCP)


The Senior Clinical Systems Analyst works in collaboration with LCS Health Services Division team members and community staff to implement and maintain the clinical information systems (EMR) utilized in LCS managed and owned communities.


This position will have a primary focus on PointClickCare, and will manage the relationship between PointClickCare and Life Care Services managed communities.


Training, design, system maintenance, customer service, and end user support are the primary focuses for this position.


The Senior Clinical System Analyst also serves as liaison between technical services and clinical staff and acts as a mentor to Clinical Systems Analyst and Clinical Systems Support Analyst.

What You Need To Know

  • Analyzes business/clinical processes and develops process flows for integration into the clinical system.

  • Ensures interfaces/systems are developed based on valid standards & sound clinical practice.

  • Analyzes, develops, and maintains clinical systems and procedures to satisfy the needs of the users.

  • Analyzes and develops necessary design work, including workflows, test plans and documentation.

  • Reviews, evaluates and implements requests from clinical system users.

  • Oversees clinical applications to ensure proper use and security.

  • Analyzes problems, determines cause and initiates corrective action.

  • Develops clear and concise documentation, instruction manuals.

  • Provides in-service and other forms of continuing education of clinical systems to clinical users.

  • Provide training to end users.

  • Coordinates implementation of clinical systems.

  • Maintains a high level of interaction with all clinical areas to continually enhance/improve resident care.

  • Shares on-call duties with other individuals within the EMR Team.

  • Coordinates and participates in both internal and external user group organizations.


What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree minimum in the Computer Science, Healthcare or equivalent experience.

  • 5 years of experience with clinical information systems providing training or support to users.

  • 5 years of experience in healthcare.

  • Experience in inter and intra-departmental communications required.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively, coordinate multiple duties simultaneously, be able to independently solve clinical system related issues.

  • Understand interactions between clinical areas and their roles within the care setting.

  • Stays current with technology through seminars, educational opportunities, trade magazines, etc.

  • Basic computer skills are required including: keyboarding, use of PC's, computers, terminals, printers, etc.

  • Understanding of how technology affects an organization and ability to link it to redesigned business process

  • Strong analytical skills, with ability to troubleshoot problems and come up with viable solutions.

  • Experience in organizing, planning, and executing large-scale projects from vision through implementation, involving internal personnel, contractors, and vendors.

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Strong project management skills

  • Excellent communication skills–both verbal and written. 

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Delegates tasks to others with clear and concise instructions

  • Ability to deal with a number of tasks simultaneously

  • Ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines.

  • Able to use judgement in making routine decisions.

  • Discretion - in medical environment where personal health information (PHI) exists. Must adhere to privacy and security policies, compliant with HIPAA/HITECH and other federal and state laws.
