Summit Vista, Utah’s first Life Plan Community, will offer healthy, active seniors a new option in retirement living. Independent Living apartment homes are clustered around a 62,000 square foot clubhouse that contains a variety of services and amenities, including a pool, fitness center, beauty salon, bank, convenience store, a classroom, an art studio, and three restaurants. Summit Vista offers a full range of health and wellness services to keep our residents as healthy and independent as possible. The first phase of Summit Vista is set to open in the fall of 2018.

The job responsibilities and requirements are below:

Catering Coordinator / Culinary Administrative Assistant

SUMMARY: The Administrative Assistant is responsible for all clerical functions including generating cash register reports.  Other duties include operating cash register, typing menus, coordinating schedules, reconciling safe and petty cash and maintaining Director's schedule. Assists with all aspects of catering/event coordination. Coordinates all Dining Room Staff, Utility Staff and Production Staff for catering events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1.      Ensures the satisfaction of residents in the Dining Services areas, particularly the office.

2.      Ensures the organization and professional appearance of the Dining Services office.

3.      Manages telephones and office hardware and software.

4.      Oversees the cash and sales reporting systems.

5.      Communicates appropriately with all food service staff, supervisor and listens effectively.

6.      Coordinates the overall efficiency of dining room catered operations.

7.      Coordinates all dining room staff, utility staff, captains and team leaders including training.

8.      Coordinates functions within budgetary perimeters.

9.      Ensures that all services and programs are in compliance with federal, state and/or local laws and statutes.

10.  Assists Manager with planning, coordinating and booking all functions and events at the Community.

11.  Ensures the cleanliness and sanitation of dining rooms, kitchens, storage areas, loading docks and elevators.

12.  Ensures proper portioning of foods and attractive plate presentation by servers.

13.  Ensures the proper opening and closing of food service operations.

14.  Shows professional knowledge, proficiency and initiative in achieving goals and meeting standards.

Performs any duty requested by Management to ensure the effective and efficient operation of dining

Ability to perform all clerical duties as directed.  Knowledge and proficiency of computers and willingness to further educate oneself.  Flexibility, motivation and adeptness to manage a one-person office.  Skillfulness in dealing effectively with people.




5 years experience as secretary/administrative assistant to higher management. High school diploma or GED required.  Some college preferred, but not required in lieu of experience.
