GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Bartender is responsible for bar service in the community cocktail lounge and event spaces.

 

Schedule:

  • PT Friday, Saturday, Sunday 11am - 7pm 

 

Essential Job Duties:

  • Takes orders; provides service and requested items both graciously and courteously. Answers questions about drink items.
  • Clears all tableware from tables and bar after service.
  • Cleans all glassware and dishes and distributes.
  • Stocks, restocks, and rotates supplies.
  • Prepares garnishes for bar use. Prepares snack trays.
  • Maintains all documents necessary to accurately account for resident and guest charges.
  • Assists supervisor with inventory of supplies.
     

Other Duties:

  • Maintains a high level of customer service for our residents and their guests.
  • Maintains safe and sanitary conditions in work areas.
  • Maintains acceptable standards of personal hygiene and complies with department dress code.
  • Completes all assigned cleaning tasks.
  • Informs supervisor of equipment and supply needs.
  • Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
  • Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English. Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Must possess and maintain a Class 12 permit to serve alcohol in Washington State.
  • Must possess and maintain a Food Worker Card in Washington State.
  • Experience bartending in a hotel, restaurant, or club with fine dining preferred; will train.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, peers, and supervisors. Requires courtesy, tact, and graciousness.
  • Positive and professional work demeanor required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed indoors. Occasional event service outdoors where you may be exposed to the elements (hot, cold, rain, etc.). Must be able to stand/walk for 100% of the workday. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently and on a frequent basis. Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, and balance frequently throughout the workday. Must be able to see, hear, and speak.
