POSITION TITLE: Server

SUPERVISOR’S TITLE: Dining Room Manager

STATUS: Hourly / Non-Exempt

Position Summary:

Serve resident meals in a timely manner and reset tables for next meal.

Essential Job

Functions: 1. Exemplify at all times Community standards of cleanliness, sanitation and organization.

 

2. Responsible for adhering to food quality, appearance and presentation standards at all times.

3. Exhibit dining room appearance and presentation standards at all times.

4. Exemplify Community standards of fully staffed, operational, and stocked dining room.

5. Exhibit serving standards of speed, accuracy, and efficiency.

6. Knowledge in areas of serving, preparation and shift organization.

7. Set tables and maintains work stations in proper order. Take orders, provide service and requested items both graciously and courteously. Answer pertinent questions about menu items.

8. Clear dishes from tables during and after meal service, assist with dish washing.

9. Serve customers using proper serving etiquette and promote an inviting dining atmosphere.

10. Knowledge of diets provided and served correctly per Policy and Procedure.

Education Required: 

Completion of Jr. High school or the equivalent education, training and experience  

Years/Months of Experience: 

No experience necessary

 

Knowledge/Skills
The ability to speak, read and comprehend the English language Dining room organization and preparation hands-on responsibilities Teamwork role with all Food and Beverage staff

Knowledge in areas of local Health Department, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies

 

Good communication skills (oral and written)

 

Good inter-department communication and teamwork skills

 

Special Requirements (if applicable): 

Doctor’s statement verifying employee is free from communicable disease

• All beverage dispensing equipment/ china/ flat wear/ glasses/ linen/ buss trays-carts/ hold and cold food holding equipment/ ware-washing system

• Lifts and carries up to 50 lbs. occasionally

• Pushes and pulls up to 50 lbs. occasionally

• Climbs, reaches, bends and twists occasionally

• Talks and listens frequently

• Stands and walks 3-8 hours per day (combined)

• Employee handles food frequently

 

 

3. Physical requirements of the job:

• Medium work - exerts up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects

 

4. Visual acuity requirements, including color, depth perception and field of visions:

• Ability to perform job requirements, maintain a safe work environment, ability to read and communicate effectively

 

5. Environmental factors:

• Subject to both environmental conditions; activities occur inside and outside

• Subject to extreme heat, hazards and other environmental conditions. One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation (oven cleaners)
